IMPEL is supported by a secretariat which is the backbone of the IMPEL network. The secretariat staff is made up of a team of five officers: Michael Nicholson, Carmen Herreras, Pinar Topkaya, Elisabete Dias Ramos and Ellen Greve.
Michael (Secretariat Manager) has overall responsibility for managing IMPEL’s Secretariat. Amongst his specific responsibilities are the financial management of the network; supporting the IMPEL Board and General Assembly, particularly the work of the Chair and Vice Chair, in guiding the strategic direction of the network; and is the main contact point for key external stakeholders like the European Commission.
Carmen (Administrations Officer) is responsible for arranging travel and logistics for IMPEL WORK PROGRAMME projects and conferences. She is in charge of suppliers management and their contracts, and of finding new efficiencies for the Secretariat.
Pinar (Administrations Officer) is in charge of administering IMPEL’s internal communications, such as contact lists, document management and the internal communication tool Basecamp. She is responsible for arranging logistics for IMPEL external projects (SWEAP, WASTEFORCE, SPIDER WEB), providing support to project managers and managing the network’s membership issues.
Elisabete (Project Officer) has the responsibility of supporting the Expert Teams as well as Project Managers with the implementation of IMPEL Projects. This includes attending meetings, workshops and events where necessary, project report writing, support recruitment to Expert Teams. Other responsibilities include supporting the Communications Officer and the Programme Management Group.
Ellen (Communications Officer) is dealing with the internal and external communications of IMPEL. Her tasks include the development and implementation of the communications plan, maintaining and updating the content of the IMPEL website and improving IMPEL’s further online presence. Her main objective is to increase (name) recognition for IMPEL.
