The SPIDER WEB project announced the final installment of the Consultation Group for the ‘SPIDER WEB: Strategic Project to Increase the Detection and Disruption of Environmental Crime in the Western Balkans’.
The first meeting of the Consultation Group will take place in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 16 and 17 April 2019. A variety of organisations are represented in the Consultation Group, ranging from national authorities responsible for the implementation of environmental legislation, to international organisations like Birdlife Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the European Network for Prosecutors for the Environment (ENPE) and EU Environment Partnership Programme for Accession (EPPA Programme).
The objectives of this meeting are to provide the Consultation Group with an update about the project; to identify from the Consultation Group joint collaborative working opportunities to ensure the objectives of the project are fully achieved with the maximum lasting benefit; and to identify potential barriers and mitigation to ensure the SPIDER WEB success.
Topics for presentation and discussion will be the overall project overview, the Baseline Study and the Training Needs Assessment overview. The Consultation Group will also be briefed on the trainings in the targeted 6 Western Balkan countries that are currently being planned.
