  • IMPEL National Peer Review Initiative Project

    The project aims at setting the basis for the development of autonomous Peer Review activities in National Networks of Environmental Authorities and Agencies. It can be used as an instrument to improve own performances through dialog, collaborative confrontation and sharing of good practices among the peers belonging to the same network. The NPRI has been recognised as a powerful tool to support the implementation of the EU ECA initiative, in particular because of its potential to apply good and best practices and its contribution to harmonisation in the execution of tasks and responsibilities by authorities. The NPRI project involves 20 institutions from 15 European countries that are part of IMPEL.

  • Conference: Exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution

    Conference: Exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution was organised by the Italian Government and Carabinieri, in cooperation with European Commission, DG ENV, through the Directorate for Zero Pollution and Green Cities, in the European Parliament on 7 February 2023 in Brussels. The Conference concentrated on the remediation of landfills and exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution. In the midst of the implementation of the European Green Deal and in light of the 2021 Zero Pollution Action Plan, the purpose of the Conference was to shed light on lessons learnt so far and facilitate exchanges of views with other relevant enforcement actors. The Board of IMPEL, gave a speech at the conference to present perspectives on multi agency cooperation environmental enforcement efforts being carried out by authorities, between and within IMPEL member countries.

    Das IMPEL-Projekt "Abfallwirtschaft und Kreislaufwirtschaft" (WMCE) durchläuft die Stufen der Abfallhierarchie, um ein gemeinsames Verständnis der wichtigsten Punkte der Abfallrahmenrichtlinie zu erreichen und die Verhaltensweisen in den Mitgliedstaaten zu vereinheitlichen. Im Rahmen des Projekts wurden bereits in den vorangegangenen Projektphasen Leitfäden zu den Stufen der Abfallhierarchie erstellt.

    IMPEL unterstützt das IED-Implementierungsprojekt mit einer gemeinsamen Inspektion in einer schwedischen Zellstofffabrik Die Arbeitsgruppe Inspektion und Prävention aus der ET-Industrie und der Luft organisierte am 8. und 9. Dezember 2022 ihre 14. gemeinsame Inspektion in einer Zellstoff- und Papierfabrik in Schweden. Dies war die erste gemeinsame Inspektion nach Corona. Inspektoren aus Schweden, den Niederlanden und Finnland nahmen an der Inspektion teil, und ein Inspektor aus dem Vereinigten Königreich war an den Vorbereitungen beteiligt.

  • Das IMPEL-Schiffsrecyclingprojekt organisierte sein erstes Webinar am 28. November 2022

    Das IMPEL-Schiffsrecyclingprojekt zielt darauf ab, die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den in diesem Bereich tätigen Umwelt- und Seeverkehrsbehörden zu verbessern. Unterschiedliche EU-Rechtsvorschriften und damit verbundene Zuständigkeiten erschweren die Umsetzung, Überwachung und Durchsetzung. Um illegale Verbringungen zu verhindern, werden Leitfäden für Behörden und andere Beteiligte entwickelt und der Aufbau von Kapazitäten für Inspektoren und andere Beteiligte organisiert. Auch die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Institutionen, Agenturen, Netzwerken innerhalb und außerhalb der EU sowie mit Nichtregierungsorganisationen wird geprüft.
