WMCE Phase II Subproject-Plastic End of Waste

This sub-project of the WMCE Umbrella Project focuses on supporting authorities in preparing for the regulation’s implementation by promoting a common permitting and inspection approach, increasing awareness of new recycling technologies, and encouraging cooperation between enforcement bodies to prevent illegal plastic waste flows and ensure compliance with EU product and waste legislation.

Umbrella Project-Waste Management & Circular Economy (WMCE) - Phase II

This project marks the next phase of the Waste Management & Circular Economy (WMCE) Umbrella Project – Phase I, building on its successes and continuing several of its subprojects under Phase II. The project moves through the waste hierarchy steps, in order to achieve a common understanding of the key points of the Waste Framework Directive and homogenize behaviors across Member States.

The aim of this subproject is to adapt the IRAM tool (previously developed within the easyTools IMPEL Project) for the risk assessment within the planning of environmental inspections at waste recycling installations, also defining a standard set of risk criteria.

Umbrella Project-Waste Management & Circular Economy(WMCE)-Phase I

This project builded on the results and products from the previous landfill projects and was moving through the waste hierarchy steps, in order to support the implementation of key EU environmental policies, including the New Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), he amended Waste Framework Directive (Directive (EU) 2018/851), and the objectives outlined in the Environmental Compliance and Governance Forum (2020–2022).
