Good practices in the implementation of the EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking Project organised their first joint inspection in Portugal

19 Dec, 2022

The implementation of the EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking requires broad support, not just from the EU institutions, but also the EU agencies – Europol and Eurojust –, the Member States and their relevant agencies, the EU delegations, Member States Embassies in third countries.

The aim of ‘Good practices in the implementation of the EU Action Plan against Wildlife Trafficking’ IMPEL project is to analyse the different good practices to implement the EU tools to tackle wildlife trafficking and to build an orientation guide that can be shared and used by all Member States.

The project team has developed a reference guide in the previous phases of the project. Click here to download the document.

In 2022-2024, the project team will carry out joint inspections to test and improve the guide.

First joint inspection was organised in AVISAN (Santarém) and Birds Fair (Porto) Portugal on 2-4 December 2022 with participation of inspectors from The Netherlands, Slovenia, Malta and Portugal.

More joint inspections will be organised in 2023 by the project team.
