IMPEL elects new Chair person

During the 18th General Assembly meeting, 10-12th December in Vienna, IMPEL elected a new Chair person. After three years, Chris Dijkens stepped down. His successor is Prof. Dimitrios Dermatas of Greece. Prof. Dermatas, Special Secretary of Inspectorate of Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy, who will officially start as of 1 January 2019.

Ms Ana Garçia of the Portuguese Environmental Inspectorate IGAMAOT, also stepped down after fullfilling her 2-years term as vice-chair of IMPEL. For now, no new vice chair has been appointed.

The IMPEL members thanked Chris and Ana for their great support during their terms in helping IMPEL preparing for its future ambitions and raising IMPEL’s role in environmental compliance. They welcomed Prof. Dimitrios Dermatas to the IMPEL family.
