IMPEL side event on 8 October 2019 on waste management and circular economy during European Week of Regions and Cities, 7 – 10 October 2019, Brussels

September 13, 2019

The European Week of Regions and Cities will be held 7 to 10 October 2019 in Brussels. IMPEL is organising a side event on 8 October 2019 with the objective of spreading the results of the discussion had within the IMPEL project “Waste management and circular economy” with particular regard to the topic of enabling circular innovations.

The IMPEL side event will take place on 8 October from 9.00 to 11.00 at the IEEP (European Environmental Policy Institute), Rue Joseph II 36-38, 1000 Brussels.

For more information about the side event, please contact Myriam Fernandez.

There is a need for a new class of infrastructures and technologies that allow the waste to be transformed into new products with full respect of the precautionary principle. Some of them are in the experimental process, but others are already implemented and obtaining good results in different European and MS regions.

The members of IMPEL agree that harmonizing the legislation is the first step for industries and governments to invest in these new industrial processes and technologies.

The IMPEL side event aims to expose and discuss with the representatives of the regions and cities the good practices emerged by the discussion within the project and disseminate its results.
