The highest body of IMPEL, the General Assembly, had its annual meeting on 19 and 20 November 2019 in Helsinki, Finland.
In the opening speech of the EU Commission (Aurel Ciobanu Dordea), the three focus areas the Commission will work on were highlighted:
– Zero pollution ambition
– Circular economy strategy
– Climate Change and Biodiversity
The new work programme, under the name “European Green Deal”, aims to be more integrated with the UN Development Goals.
The General Assembly of IMPEL nominated Kristina Rabe as Chair and Robert Ruzicka as Vice-Chair of the Board of IMPEL. Among others, the General Assembly agreed to carry out a Governance Review of IMPEL. The 2019 and 2020 projects were presented by the Expert Team leaders (or by their deputies/Expert Team members).
