IMPEL National Peer Review Initiative Project

The project aims at setting the basis for the development of autonomous Peer Review activities in National Networks of Environmental Authorities and Agencies. It can be used as an instrument to improve own performances through dialog, collaborative confrontation and sharing of good practices among the peers belonging to the same network. The NPRI has been recognised as a powerful tool to support the implementation of the EU ECA initiative, in particular because of its potential to apply good and best practices and its contribution to harmonisation in the execution of tasks and responsibilities by authorities. The NPRI project involves 20 institutions from 15 European countries that are part of IMPEL.

Conference: Exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution was organised by the Italian Government and Carabinieri, in cooperation with European Commission, DG ENV, through the Directorate for Zero Pollution and Green Cities, in the European Parliament on 7 February 2023 in Brussels. The Conference concentrated on the remediation of landfills and exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution. In the midst of the implementation of the European Green Deal and in light of the 2021 Zero Pollution Action Plan, the purpose of the Conference was to shed light on lessons learnt so far and facilitate exchanges of views with other relevant enforcement actors. The Board of IMPEL, gave a speech at the conference to present perspectives on multi agency cooperation environmental enforcement efforts being carried out by authorities, between and within IMPEL member countries.

IMPEL atbalsta IED ieviešanas projekts organizēja kopīgu pārbaudi papīra celulozes rūpnīcā Zviedrijā Darba grupas pārbaude un profilakse no ET nozares un gaisa telpas organizēja 14. kopīgu pārbaudi celulozes un papīra rūpnīcā Zviedrijā 2022. gada 8.-9. decembrī. Šī bija pirmā kopīgā inspekcija pēc Corona. Inspekcijai pievienojās inspektori no Zviedrijas, Nīderlandes un Somijas, un sagatavošanās darbos piedalījās inspektors no Apvienotās Karalistes.

IMPEL kuģu pārstrādes projekta mērķis ir uzlabot sadarbību starp šajā jomā iesaistītajām vides un jūrniecības iestādēm. Dažādie ES tiesību akti un saistītās kompetences apgrūtina to īstenošanu, uzraudzību un izpildi. Lai novērstu nelegālus pārvadājumus, tiks izstrādāti norādījumi iestādēm un citām iesaistītajām ieinteresētajām personām, kā arī tiks organizēta inspektoru un citu ieinteresēto personu kapacitātes palielināšana. Tiks pētīta arī sadarbība ar citām iestādēm, aģentūrām, tīkliem ES un ārpus tās, kā arī ar nevalstiskajām organizācijām.
