Public Consultation on the Evaluation of the Waste Shipment Regulation

February 5, 2018

Article 60(2a) of Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 on shipments of waste (Waste Shipment Regulation) calls upon the Commission to carry out a review of this Regulation by the end of 31/12/2020.

In accordance with the Better Regulation Guidelines, an evaluation is the first step in this process. The purpose of the evaluation of the Regulation is to identify the good and bad practices in its implementation and assess whether this has met its objectives on the basis of five criteria (efficiency, effectiveness, relevance, coherence, EU-added value).

This public consultation will assist in assessing whether and how the objectives of the Regulation may have been achieved. As such, it offers an opportunity for any interested party, including private citizens, companies, organisations, public authorities, etc. to submit a contribution by expressing an opinion and supplying useful information.

Any interested party, including private citizens, companies, organisations, public authorities etc. are welcome to contribute to this consultation.

The consultation closes 27 April 2018.
