IMPEL, ENPE, EnviCrimeNet and EUFJE are organising the 4 Networks Conference ‘Towards a more effective environmental enforcement’ on 24 – 25 September 2020, Florence, Italy.
During these 2 days the aim is at bringing together regulators, inspectors, police officers, prosecutors and judges who are active or interested in combating environmental crime more effectively by joining forces.
The theme ‘Towards a more effective environmental enforcement’ will include keynote speeches about the Green Deal, the GENVAL report of the Council of the EU, the evaluation of ecological damage, and recent developments on capacity building and training.
There will be 5 parallel workshops which will include presentations of real cases followed by interactive debates about the following items, which will be relevant for all actors in the enforcement chain:
- Confiscation of illegal environmental crime benefits
- Better coordination and exchange of information between administrative and criminal investigation and sanctioning
- Innovative investigation techniques (e.g. use of drone and satellites)
- BIOVAL / evaluation of ecological damage in wildlife cases
- Climate change emergency
The conference will start on Thursday 24 September 2020 around 9AM and end on Friday 25 September 2020 at 1PM. The invitation, programme and practical information will be sent in April 2020.
