IMPEL National Peer Review Initiative Project

The project aims at setting the basis for the development of autonomous Peer Review activities in National Networks of Environmental Authorities and Agencies. It can be used as an instrument to improve own performances through dialog, collaborative confrontation and sharing of good practices among the peers belonging to the same network. The NPRI has been recognised as a powerful tool to support the implementation of the EU ECA initiative, in particular because of its potential to apply good and best practices and its contribution to harmonisation in the execution of tasks and responsibilities by authorities. The NPRI project involves 20 institutions from 15 European countries that are part of IMPEL.

Conference: Exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution was organised by the Italian Government and Carabinieri, in cooperation with European Commission, DG ENV, through the Directorate for Zero Pollution and Green Cities, in the European Parliament on 7 February 2023 in Brussels. The Conference concentrated on the remediation of landfills and exchange of enforcement practices to drive zero pollution. In the midst of the implementation of the European Green Deal and in light of the 2021 Zero Pollution Action Plan, the purpose of the Conference was to shed light on lessons learnt so far and facilitate exchanges of views with other relevant enforcement actors. The Board of IMPEL, gave a speech at the conference to present perspectives on multi agency cooperation environmental enforcement efforts being carried out by authorities, between and within IMPEL member countries.

Projekt IMPEL "Gospodarjenje z odpadki in krožno gospodarstvo" (WMCE) poteka po stopnjah hierarhije ravnanja z odpadki, da bi dosegli skupno razumevanje ključnih točk okvirne direktive o odpadkih in poenotili vedenje v državah članicah. V okviru projekta so bili v prejšnjih fazah projekta že pripravljeni dokumenti s smernicami v zvezi s stopnjami hierarhije ravnanja z odpadki.

Projekt IMPEL za podporo izvajanju IED je organiziral skupni pregled v tovarni papirne celuloze na Švedskem Delovna skupina za inšpekcijske preglede in preprečevanje iz industrije ET in zraka je 8. in 9. decembra 2022 organizirala 14. skupni pregled v tovarni celuloze in papirja na Švedskem. To je bil prvi skupni inšpekcijski pregled po konferenci Corona. Inšpekciji so se pridružili inšpektorji s Švedske, Nizozemske in Finske, pri pripravah pa je sodeloval tudi inšpektor iz Združenega kraljestva.

Projekt IMPEL Ship Recycling Project je 28. novembra 2022 organiziral svoj prvi spletni seminar.

Cilj projekta IMPEL za recikliranje ladij je izboljšati sodelovanje med okoljskimi in pomorskimi organi, ki delujejo na tem področju. Zaradi različne zakonodaje EU in z njo povezanih pristojnosti je izvajanje, nadzor in izvrševanje zahtevno. Za preprečevanje nezakonitih pošiljk bo pripravljeno gradivo s smernicami za organe in druge vključene zainteresirane strani, organizirano pa bo tudi krepitev zmogljivosti za inšpektorje in druge zainteresirane strani. Prav tako bo preučeno sodelovanje z drugimi institucijami, agencijami, mrežami v EU in zunaj nje ter z nevladnimi organi.
