Waste Crime Alert: the impact of COVID-19 on waste crime

June 15, 2020

In this edition of the WasteForce Waste Crime Alert series, information has been gathered on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on waste management and waste shipments.

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the measures that have been implemented had an impact on waste management, the (illegal) trade in waste and the enforcement of waste related legislation. This 6th Waste Crime Alert dedicates a section to articles, reports, webinars and cases related to waste crime and COVID-19. A summary can be found of guidance documents and videos for waste management and enforcement authorities, articles related to the impacts of COVID-19 on waste crime and waste management, and cases of illegal trade and disposal of waste related to COVID-19.
