IMPEL Participates in seminar in Ukraine for the SEI

On the 25th October, the chair of IMPEL, Ana Garcia was invited to the opening remarks of a seminar for the State Environmental Inspectorate (SEI) of Ukraine supported by the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OCSE) together with the OSCE Ambassador to Ukraine Mr. Marcel Peshko, Acting Head of the Division of the OECD Environment Directorate Krzysztof Michalak, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management Ms. Olena Kryvoruchkina and acting Head of the SEI Mr. Ihor Zubovych.

Ana presented IMPEL's activity and ideas for potential strengthening of cooperation between the IMPEL Network and the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine as well as the possibility to support integration of the SEI in the IMPEL's community.

Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities highly appreciated an opportunity to communicate online with IMPEL's Chair. The seminar continued with the activity and outcomes of the SEI for the last 9 months. National Coordinator for Ukraine Mr. Andrii Moroz presented interim outcomes of the SEI's membership in the IMPEL Network for the last 6 months. Next planned steps and needs were presented and discussed. 

In the afternoon all the participants planted 50 Shevchenko oak seedlings in the National Karpatskyy Natural Park. Taras Shevchenko is well-known historical poet, artist and writer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taras_Shevchenko ). In the beginning of the oak valley the information desk was set up with the information about the persons who planted the trees. IMPEL National Coordinator for Ukraine Andrii Moroz was also mentioned with the IMPEL's logo on the sign.
